The Opportunity
Due to continued growth in our Children & Young People apprenticeship provision, we are expanding our team and have multiple opportunities available for Training & Development Coaches.

We are currently recruiting for permanent and fixed-term roles, with full-time and part-time hours available. Please indicate your preferred hours and contract type within your application.

Our apprenticeship provision is growing through our partnership with Lancashire County Council and local employers, creating exciting opportunities for professionals passionate about developing the workforce supporting children, young people and families.

About the Role
As a Training & Development Coach, you will support apprentices completing the Children & Young People Level 4 and Level 5 standards across Lancashire.
You will coach, guide and challenge apprentices within their workplace, helping them build the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to succeed in professional practice and achieve their End Point Assessment.

The role is primarily workplace-based coaching and assessment, alongside some teaching and learning delivery, including small group workshops and professional discussions to support apprentices’ knowledge development.

Who This Role Is For
We welcome applications from:
• Experienced apprenticeship coaches or assessors
• Practitioners or managers working in children’s services, residential care or family support looking to move into a teaching and learning role 
• Professionals passionate about supporting others to develop in their careers
You do not need to already be a teacher.
We recognise that great practitioners often move into education later in their career and we will support successful candidates to gain relevant qualifications where required.

Support and Development
Where required, we will support successful candidates to achieve:
• Level 3 Award in Education and Training
• Assessor Qualification (CAVA/A1)
• Internal Quality Assurance qualification (IQA)
Full mentoring and development will be provided to help you transition successfully into an apprenticeship coaching role.

What You Will Be Doing
• Conduct workplace coaching sessions and progress reviews
• Plan and facilitate teaching and learning sessions including workshops and professional discussions
• Coach apprentices to develop professional practice and evidence their KSBs
• Provide developmental feedback and set clear targets to support progress
• Prepare apprentices for End Point Assessment
• Work closely with employers to support apprentice progress and performance
• Maintain accurate learner records using OneFile and college systems
• Embed safeguarding, Prevent, personal development and professional behaviours throughout delivery

What We Are Looking For

Essential
• Recent occupational experience working with children and young people at Level 4 or Level 5
• Experience within residential and/or community children’s services
• Strong safeguarding awareness and professional judgement
• Ability to support, challenge and motivate learners
• Confidence facilitating teaching and learning in small groups
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to travel to employer sites

Desirable
• Assessor qualification (A1/CAVA)
• Experience delivering apprenticeships or work-based learning
• Knowledge of CYP apprenticeship standards and EPA requirements
• Experience using OneFile or similar e-portfolio systems
