Our Organisation
Part of East Lancashire Learning Group, Accrington and Rossendale College has a proud history of delivering high quality vocational courses and technical training, apprenticeships and higher education provision to the communities that we serve. We excel in providing people with a platform to progress into fantastic employment opportunities with rewarding careers prospects.

The Exciting Role
An opportunity to support, coach and develop the next generation of Early Years and Education practitioners.

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Training & Development Coach to join our Education and Childcare apprenticeship team. This role is ideal for someone who is ready to move into — or continue within — an apprenticeship coaching role and who understands the responsibility of supporting learners in professional settings.

You will work with apprentices on Early Years and Teaching Assistant standards (Levels 2–3, with Level 5 desirable), supporting them to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to succeed in their roles and progress confidently towards End Point Assessment.
This role requires a strong coaching mindset, sound professional judgement, and a commitment to safeguarding, quality and learner wellbeing.

Who This Role Is For
This role would suit:
• An experienced apprenticeship coach or assessor, or
• A senior practitioner or manager from industry (Early Years or education support) who is ready to transition into a coaching role and understands the difference between managing staff and supporting apprentices to learn, reflect and progress safely.
We welcome applications from industry professionals who can clearly demonstrate:
• Readiness for a coaching role
• Sound safeguarding judgement
• The ability to translate workplace practice into learning and development

What You Will Be Doing:
• Coach and support apprentices through regular workplace visits and progress reviews
• Support apprentices to build and evidence their knowledge, skills and behaviours
• Deliver group and 1:1 sessions to support learning and personal development
• Prepare apprentices for timely and successful End Point Assessment
• Work in partnership with employers to support apprentice progress
• Maintain accurate learner records using OneFile and college systems
• Embed safeguarding, Prevent, English, maths and professional behaviours throughout delivery

What We Are Looking For:
Essential:
• Occupational experience in Early Years or education support roles
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, professional boundaries and learner wellbeing
• Ability to coach, support and challenge apprentices appropriately
• Excellent communication, organisation and relationship-building skills
• Commitment to quality, compliance and continuous improvement

Desirable:
• Assessor qualification (A1/CAVA or equivalent)
• Experience delivering apprenticeships or work-based learning
• Experience with OneFile or similar e-portfolio systems
• Knowledge of EPA processes and apprenticeship standards
• If you are from industry and do not yet hold an assessor qualification, support and development will be provided.
• A genuine passion for apprenticeships and a commitment to helping every learner reach their full potential.

Why Join Us
You’ll be part of a supportive, values-led team within East Lancashire Learning Group, working in an organisation recognised for quality, learner experience and staff development.

What We Offer in Return:
• Generous annual leave allowance, plus Bank Holidays and closure days, and including a two-week closure over the Christmas period.
• Access to a workplace pension scheme – with generous employer contributions
• Enhanced occupational sick pay scheme and access to family friendly policies and benefits
• A range of health and wellbeing benefits and support
